Well that was one hell of a week!

You know that old saying… that it never rains, it pours! well that sums up the week we’ve had.

Apart from being diagnosed with an incisional hernia, our 3 year old broke his arm during a play fight with his elder brother. He’s now sporting a rather tatty temporary plaster that’s getting replaced in the morning for a proper one that will be on for between 3 to 4 weeks. Poor thing, he’s still running around like a racing car (noise and all) and the arm hasn’t slowed him down one bit. The only real issue he has is which colour plaster cast he’s going to have tomorrow :)

Moving on, my visit with Mr Karim was as good as ever. My PSA levels are fine, there is no issues here now and we are looking at moving the appointments to every 6 months instead of every 3 months after the next appointment in May.

The funny thing was that when Mr Karim came out to meet me by his office he actually asked about the Hernia as he’d been reading the blog!! I guess that he’s keeping a eye on me via the Internet, now that’s service for you :)

After a few quick presses and checks, it would appear that I will need an operation to repair the hernia. it’s not really an issue for me, having been through the last year a simple operation isn’t a big deal. It’s really only a quick in and out anyway so I won’t even have chance to chill out, watch TV, have lunch, or wonder around the hospital trying to find something to eat at stupid o’clock in the morning :)

So all in all I’m looking at day surgery with about a week to recover plus light duties for the following 5 weeks and then job done.
